Mmm fishy. This is a subtractive painting I did in practice for a piece for my Illustration class. What I did was put down a layer of maker (you can sort of see that) and then covered it with a layer of guouche (which is sort of like watercolor). Then using just various brushes and water I pulled some of the guouche away to bring out the highlights. And just added more paint on top of that for more shading. It's kind of nifty. I like my monochromatic fishy!
